According to the latest health ministry data, India recorded the highest spike of 9,971 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the coronavirus tally in the country to 2,46,628. With fresh figures, India surpassed Spain’s tally to become fifth worst-hit nation by the novel coronavirus. Also, 287 deaths due to the virus were reported in a day, bringing death toll to 6,929.
