Being a teacher might be decent paying job in India, but it would take years for some teacher to make Rs 1 crore. One teacher employed in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) did that in 12 months.
KGBV is a residential setup for girls from weaker sections of society. This teacher allegedly “worked” at 25 schools simultaneously, earning a total of over Rs 1 crore in salary from these schools over 13 months till February 2020.
This anomaly was noticed when a database of teachers was being created.
The teacher named Anamika Shukla, was able to pull off working at 25 schools simultaneously even though there is real-time monitoring of teachers’ attendance in UP’s primary schools.
TOI reports that according to the record, this native of Mainpuri, Shukla was on the pay rolls of these schools for over a year.
